Police & Crime Commissioner’s Update September 2025

PCC SEPTEMBER UPDATE

This update details the next wave of public meetings with the PCC and the Chief Constable; details of the Accountability and Performance Panel which is on Friday September 12; information about the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Fund which has just re-opened for applications and a list of current projects funded by the PCC. AUTUMN PUBLIC MEETING DATES ANNOUNCED

The PCC and Chief Constable, Rachel Kearton are hosting a series of public meetings this autumn to talk about local policing and answer questions from the public.

Meetings will be held across the county through September and October with an on-line meeting in November.

EAST AREA: Thursday September 25 at Wherry Hotel, Bridge Road, Oulton Broad, Lowestoft NR32 3LN

MID SUFFOLK: Thursday October 7 at The Mix, 127 Ipswich Street, Stowmarket, IP14 1BB

WEST AREA: Monday October 13 at Mildenhall Hub, Sheldrick Way, Mildenhall IP28 7JX

SOUTH AREA: Monday October 20 at Inspire Suffolk , 49 Lindberg Road, Ipswich IP3 9QX

All meetings start at 6.30pm, doors open 6pm. There is no need to book, please just turn up on the evening.

There is also an ON-LINE MEETING on Monday November 3 at 6pm via Microsoft Teams. Please email spcc@suffolk.police.uk to register and an invite will be sent through via email in advance of the meeting.

ACCOUNTABILITY & PERFORMANCE

The next Accountability and Performance Panel is on Friday 12th September at Police Headquarters in Martlesham. This is the meeting where the PCC holds the Constabulary to account on behalf of the public.

In this next meeting the PCC will receive updates on Financial Monitoring, Supporting Vulnerable Victims, Managing Offenders and Reducing Reoffending, and Responding to Fraud.

The papers for the meeting are available on the PCC’s website: Accountability and Performance Panel – 12 September 2025 and as always, there will be a public question session so if you have a question about policing please send it through by 3pm on Wednesday 10th September via email to spcc@suffolk.police.uk. Questions can be related to items on the agenda or be of a general policing nature, however questions that relate to a specific case involving individual matters of detail will not be taken at the meeting and will be responded to separately.

THE POLICE & CRIME COMMISSIONER’S FUND

The Police and Crime Commissioner’s Fund has re-opened for applications. Grants up to £20,000 are available for services that reduce crime and disorder, or support victims of crime.

The PCC recognises that voluntary sector plays a significant role in reducing crime and disorder and in supporting victims and is looking for strong applications that demonstrate delivery on key areas of the Police and Crime Plan.

COMMISSIONING UPDATE
